surferjpegBecause we are located on the very edge of Europe with the jet stream flowing past us we have no shortage of swells and the right weather that makes for great surfing conditions.

Many surfers think of Donegal Bay in the south of the county, and Bundoran and Rossnowlagh in particular, when they think of surfing in Donegal.  They are impressive destinations but come a little further north and you will still get great surf without the crowds (or any cars on the beaches).

There are two local surf schools nearby, both ISA approved and offering group and private lessons and coaching, as well as equipment hire.

Narosa is based in Dunfanaghy while Jaws has surf schools in Dunfanaghy and Downings.

Boogie boarding, paddle boarding, wake boarding and kayaking are also popular and Marble Hill tends to be the most popular beach for watersport activities.
